Guidelines

Community guidelines

Link Green Bay exists to strengthen the connections between residents and the nonprofit organizations serving Greater Green Bay. These guidelines help us keep the platform accurate, respectful, and useful for everyone.

Our values

Respect

Treat every organization and community member with dignity. We're all working toward a better Greater Green Bay.

Collaboration

This platform is built on the idea that nonprofits and residents achieve more together than apart.

Accuracy

Reliable information builds trust. We hold ourselves and our community to a high standard of accuracy.

Content standards for org profiles

Organization profiles are the foundation of the directory. Verified admins are responsible for keeping their profiles accurate and up to date.

  • Accurate information. All profile details — including name, mission, contact info, service areas, and hours — must reflect your organization as it currently operates.
  • Appropriate images. Profile photos, logos, and event images should represent your organization honestly. Do not use misleading, offensive, or unrelated imagery.
  • No promotional spam. Profiles are for informing the community, not for advertising unrelated products or services.
  • Respect intellectual property. Only upload content you have the right to use. Do not copy descriptions, logos, or images from other organizations.

Community behavior expectations

Community features — conversations, event comments, and spotlights — are spaces for constructive engagement between residents and nonprofits.

  • Be constructive. Share experiences, ask questions, and offer feedback in a way that helps organizations improve and helps residents make informed decisions.
  • No harassment or hate speech. Personal attacks, discriminatory language, threats, or intimidation will not be tolerated.
  • No spam or self-promotion. Do not post repetitive content, irrelevant links, or solicitations in community spaces.
  • Protect privacy. Do not share others' personal information (phone numbers, home addresses, etc.) without their consent.

Moderation policy

Our moderation team works to keep the platform safe and reliable. Here's how moderation works:

What gets reviewed

  • New organization claims and profile submissions
  • Community posts and comments flagged by users
  • Edits to trust-sensitive profile fields (see below)
  • Reported content and accounts

What gets removed

  • Content that violates these guidelines
  • Fraudulent or misleading organization profiles
  • Spam, harassment, or hate speech
  • Content that contains personal or sensitive information shared without consent

Trust field moderation

Certain organization profile fields are considered “trust fields” because they directly affect how residents identify and evaluate an organization. Edits to these fields require admin review before going live:

  • Organization name
  • Mission statement
  • Website URL
  • Categories & service areas

This review process protects the integrity of the directory. Most trust field edits are reviewed within 1–2 business days. You can continue to edit other profile details (hours, contact info, images, events) without waiting for review.

Reporting inappropriate content

If you see content that violates these guidelines, you can report it directly from the platform:

  • On a profile or post: Click the flag icon or “Report” option in the menu.
  • For urgent concerns: Email us at hello@gbaynonprofits.org with details about the content and why it concerns you.

All reports are reviewed by our moderation team. We take every report seriously and will follow up if we need additional context.
